Requirements:

● An unlocked Navman

The easy option for completing this installation process is to download a cracked version of Destinator, but I'm not encouraging anyone to do that here.

If you own a legitimate version of Destinator you'll need to have it installed on a device running Windows Mobile™ 2003 or later.

Installing Destinator 6 is virtually the same as installing iGo. You'll need to install Destinator on a Windows Mobile 2003+ device, or the free WinMobile2005 standalone emulator from Microsoft.

Run setup.exe on your wm2003+ device. When the installation has finished copy the folder from the device's or emulator's [DestinatorApps], to your Navman's storage card. Very Happy Very Happy

see http://navmanunlocked.forumwise.com/navmanunlocked-thread77.html for instructions on how to use the emulator.

Thanks for the tutorial iCN520. Nice screen grabs too Very Happy

First Impressions:
Great POIs.
It has the same postcode inaccuracy problem as Navigon 6. I'm guessing the UK map is based on the same data.
When following directions, the navigation icon and instructions are about 200 yards behind where they should be.
This has the worst UK English voice of any GPS software. The rising inflection makes every vocal command sound dubious. Confused

Here's an updated speed comparison test.

The Test:
Calculate a route from a house in N. Ireland to a house in Mainland UK.

Route length:
Destinator - 408 miles (N-Ireland -> R. Ireland -> mainland UK)
Navman - 378 miles (N-Ireland -> R-Ireland -> mainland UK)
Tomtom - 370 miles (N-Ireland -> R-Ireland -> mainland UK)
Navigon - 421 miles (N-Ireland -> mainland UK)
Miomap - 421 miles (N-Ireland -> mainland UK)

Although longer, the route calculated by Navigon and Miomap made more sense. R-Ireland is not part of the UK.

Please note: the Navman's SmartST2005 software has the smallest and oldest maps of this bunch, hence the fast calculation time.

Update:
Latest maps with Tomtom 6.200 renders the same route as Miomap and Navigon and takes 190.353 secs to calculate

What dir do the maps go into?
So far managed to get it to sort of working on emulator (it cant find maps) but not working at all on Navman. Ended up requiring hard reset Shocked.
(For the record Route 66 also works well on an ICN530 Very Happy but address search is not as easy/good as with Nav/TomTom)

If you were using the UK maps then it would look something like this:

/DestinatorApps/Destinator/UK Ireland/
    Key
    Map Folder
    Main Destinator 6 Folder

BTW the slideplayer (/DestinatorApps/SlidePlayer/) doesn't work on the iCN.

Does it need any extra files to get it working on the ICN?
Got it going on HP PDA (installed on SD Card, transferred to ICN but still wont launch - seems to do nothing.
Have tried direct installs to mem and SD card on ICN. Same tho.

Have you tried adding a dummy aygshell.dll to the folder? I believe the DestCore.dll needs aygshell.dll to run.

That got it working thanks. Very Happy
Still think its hard to beat Smart ST 2006 on the 530. Look and feel of Navman map and menu is very good.
Will give Destinator a quick try on a route though to check out voice commands.

I too have found that the position indicated on the screen generally tends to lag 100m behind the vehicles actual position. In practice this results in voice warnings/instructions occurring far too late to be of practical use.
The icn530 is an ARM processor (unlike 510/20 series) so I don't think it is processorr related. Reviews on the net also tend to confirm that D6 lags on many WM5 devices. Maybe the next release will show an improvement in this area. For now a thumbs down tho.
