Tahtu, don'y worry, I'm not blaming you - I reckon it was my mistake but I have a backup & AppStartupSec.exe is 41K in size - I presume this is the original file?
So is the 8K file your file? It is still writing the App_asrt.txt files - I guess I should try and stop this as the card will eventually fill up
Any suggestions? |

I try to do my best nobody lost anything. I think every software developer should do his best in this case.

I can't confirm that exactly, but I think hat could be the right one (on my Navman iCN 530 I had a file about that size, called AppStartupSec.exe. On my new Mio Moov device the AppStartupSec.exe has a file size of 150 KB - but I know a lot of additional features like writing the log file, handling the power button and analyzing a .ini file (it's not supported by Windows CE).
I don't know your device and which features are implemented to your AppStartupSec.exe file.

It's a part of MortScript - yes. You can rename that file to each filename. While starting it tries to open a filename with the same name - and the extension .mscr to start MortScript.exe with that script file.
The S-Series Unlock Hack uses that way to analyzing the Device.ini file and handling a lot of other things.
The Mio Moov Unlock hack has a lot of features from that .mscr files implemented in the PNADesktop.exe file - so MortScript is not longer needed - all you need is the PNADesktop.exe in the new Unlock Hack.
PNADesktop.exe will be renamed to AppStartupSec.exe too. Maybe your 40 KB AppStartupSec.exe is a renamed PNADesktop.exe from the Mio Moov Unlock Hack. |

Yep, Mortscript is needed - I just removed it & the system cannot run AppStartupSec.mscr on reboot!
I tried your Mio Moov method but it says cannot find a Moov device - is there something I'm doing wrong? |

Hey xd, I put together a universal Navman charger made from an old mobile phone universal charger (110 to 240V AC & puts out 5V DC) and a USB cable attached. Easy really, only two wires red wire (+5V) to pin 1 and black wire (Ground) to pin 4. It works fine and stops charging when the Navman battery is fully charged as it did for the mobile phone.
If anybody wants detailed instructions let me know?
Good use for old mobile phone chargers!
Oh! Don't know what's bugging tahtu - maybe I'm too active for his liking or he fears I'm trying to rip off his work? |

Thats cool. Thanks. I might actually give that a go tomorrow.
Yeah the english is terrible and it seems to be an attitude problem too - rarely see that so bad from people on the net.
Just ignore.
Im not sure where your problem lies now with the navman.
Is it that you had got the unlock working as normal but SmartST wont launch?
And uninstalling the unlock and restoring the backup you made does not sort it. So you are thinking registry problem?
Ill have a look at the registry in an S80 tomorrow and see if anything I can see can help.
I got the off maybe somewhere else. Works ok though. |

No xd, everything's working OK now - I think I posted above that I had deleted some files (to make space for SmartST) but they were needed.
Everything is Hunky Dory! Thanks for everything - I PMed you.
If you're going to try this I have some USB sockets that I soldered the wires from the charger onto - then a correct USB cable can be plugged into this socket. Makes things very easy to do. I'll send you one if you want? If you're going to try this, just make sure that the +5V is DC & is on pin 1. If you send +5V to the ground pin you may well destroy the unit. |
