I moved things around as you suggested:
- put Mortscript into Startup folder & changed the scripts to point there & all is working except for that same message from Mortscript when it's started.
Do you know how the Mio Moov method starts Mortscript without the message appearing? I've looked at the files in the zip but couldn't find anywhere that mortscript is started? |

Dont know how you go it unlocked.
You should have a folder My Flash Disk\Program Files\Unlock which has the mortscript exe and other stuff from the hack |

I don't have an unlock folder - the only folders I have there are:
- iGO8 (I created this)
- MioBT
- Navman with SmartST_CE sub-folder (& it's subfolders)
Is there anything I can check to verify how my unlock is working?
Does anyone know how Mortscript.exe can be called silently? That's all I need! |

This actually can be done.
Just create an iGo\content folder on the SD card.
then make other folders there as normal |

So do you mean to create iGO\content on SD card and create the rest of the folders on the internal S30?
Also, how do I change the wallpaper on the desktop? |

Hey xd, thanks for all the help and sorry for the many questions - I'm a noob to all this so forgive me!
Do you know anywhere for a cheap universal mains charger for the S30? I've seen them on eBay UK for abot £5 + £6 shipping. Are these good?
My daughter & boyfriend are going to Italy in 1 week & I was going to give them the S30 for navigating (walking) around Venice, Rimini, Florence so I thought a charger would be needed. |

Hey, I'm finding out a bit more as I read through the posts here:
It looks like I did use the Mio Moov methos but it didn't create an unlock folder - I don't know why.
Can I retry this or do I have to do something first - I see an option when I run setup to "Lock Device" but I'm afraid to try it. My option "Install Desktop" is greyed out.
I have these files in the root folder of the Navman:
PNADesktop.exe
Autorun.reg
Autorun.mscr
So I presume the Hack partially worked? |

OK, I tried to run the "Lock Device" option on the Setup & it seems to just sit there - looking into Windows Task Manager, I see that it is not responding.
This is probably what happened when I ran the "Install Desktop" option and I just end tasked it after waiting for a good while. This could have given me the configuration I seemed to end up with i.e. no unlock folder?
I guess I'll have to end task this as well? |

Did that - looked at the S30 folders - doesn't seem to be any difference the same files are still in the root directory but when I reboot it brings up the flash screen & then just goes into the screen that signifies it's communicating with a PC (this is without any PC connected)
I can still connect to PC via usb
When I now try to run setup on PC it says "Mio Moov device not detected"
Should I do a hard reset? |

Whew! Looks like I got the WIN Ce desktop back with the SD card method - Also, I now have an unlock folder in Program Files - just don't have a SMartST icon on the desktop
Think I'll go to bed now & finish it in the morning. |

Jasus looks like you've been busy and had some panic moments.
I am waiting on a charger from ebay to arrive. Dont know of anywhere that sells them in stores here. And doubt you'd get one from ebay in a week before they go.
Maybe try maplins or at least ring them.
So first question. create the iGo\content folder on the SD card. And what i meant was to then create the map, poi, dem, buildings folders etc in it (on SD card) like the way you have it presently on your flash disk - and just mut the relevant files in there.
Id advise getting Total Commander or even use the FilemanCE program you should have in your \program files\Unlock folder.
I posted this before:
Connect navman to computer.
Open notepad and add
51#"\My Flash Disk\Program Files\Unlock\FilemanCE.exe"
Save the file as FileManCE.lnk on your navman flash disk drive in the Program Files\Unlock\Desktop directory and also Program Files\Unlock\Programs directory
You may have a file called FilemanCE2.exe. If so just add this instead and change 51 to 52.
You can now launch this from the desktop and use it to create shortcuts for all your other programs and for SmartST in the Program Files\Navman|SmartST folder.
Best to put shortcuts in both Desktop and Programs directory as mentioned above.
I would also advise getting a file called off.exe placing it on your navman flash disk drive in the Program Files\Unlock directory and create desktop shortcut for it - as seems like the best way to shut off the s-series instead of a hard reset all the time.
http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/poweroffforpocketpc.shtml
Will mean exiting the navigation software and hitting the Off shortcut on the desktop to suspend the device. Just use the power button to turn back on and restart the navigation software.
Note: Smart ST will always require a hard reset to get back to WinCE desktop as there is no option to exit the program |

A soft reset should be fine too.
If you can get the start menu the ITaskMgr program allow to terminate program.
... but both solution are available only if you started SmartST via start menu. By starting it via Desktop you cannot use the start menu.
PS
Maybe I should attach a Off / Suspend program the Unlock Hack? |

I'm not out of the woods yet - all I have is the desktop - no icons on it to launch any progs (even SMartST)
Looking into the Navman I have this folder structure which I'm unsure about: (I had to put it in a txt file attached)
Is this correct? I'm thinking I'll try and set it up manually if somebody could tell me the correct folder structure and the contents?
Edit: I know I attached a txt file but it doesn't show - ah I didn't upload

Edit: Just looked at this and you have to fill out a survey just to download the file - bummer - Here's where you can get it without surveys: http://www.4shared.com/dir/8766282/bd8fc16a/Navman.html |

Will running Navdesk restore everything back to default?
Edit: I took a backup of all the folders before I started any of this |
