iGO8.lnk ---- Manual shortcut

Shortcuts are regular text files that use the .lnk filetype instead of .txt. You can therefore create shortcuts manually on your PC in notepad and copy them (renaming txt to lnk) to your navman.

As an example:
If the path to iGO8.exe was [Storage Card\iGO8\iGO.exe] then the contents of the shortcut would look like this:

Code:
28#"\Storage Card\iGO8\iGO.exe"

The number 28# indicates the numbers of characters used in the path, including both sets of double quotes. "\Storage Card\iGO8\iGO.exe"

So the shortcut to a file called calligrapher.exe at path [Storage Card\Program Files\System\CalliGrapher\CalliGrapher.exe] would be:

Code:
66#"\Storage Card\Program Files\System\CalliGrapher\CalliGrapher.exe"

An easier solution for those unable to create shortcuts on the Navman itself, would be to download the Windows Mobile emulator and use that to create shortcuts. Mimic the file locations of your Navman's storage card on the emulator and it's then just a straight copy/paste job.

OOps! I said iGO8.exe but used iGO.exe in the shortcut. iGO8.exe would have been #29. Sorry about that. Embarassed

BTW it's lnk not ink. (that's an L not an I) Great that you found a solution.

You could also use the WM5 emulator with ActiveSync on your PC to create shortcuts that can be copied to the Navman later. Takes a while to set up initially but fast to use thereafter.
