iGO 8 v8.0.0.41506 works.

Put the [iGO8] folder on the root of the storage card. The maps will go in the [iGO8\content\map] folder on the storage card.

You will need to remap iGO8 key bindings to match your Navman's external buttons. This is done from the keybind.txt file inside the data.zip file. Change the values under the [default] heading. If your Navman doesn't have external buttons then you can ignore this part.

These are the (hexadecimal) key values I'm using on the iCN520:

Code:
[default]
C2="ZOOMIN"
C1="ZOOMOUT"
C4="SWITCH_MAP_COCKPIT"
C5="GOTOHOME"
C3="SWITCH_ITINER"
UP="TILTDOWN"
DOWN="TILTUP"
LEFT="ROTATELEFT"
RIGHT="ROTATERIGHT"
x75="VOLUMEUP"
x76="VOLUMEDOWN"

Use this program to work out the key codes on your Navman:
AEKMapScan

The sys.txt files looks like this:
Code:
[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"
;app="Internal Storage/iGO8"

[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1

I have managed to unlock my F10 and now when it starts up it shows me a screen that asks me what software I would like to run.
The choices are:
SmartST2008 (this works)
Utilities (this works)
Tom Tom
Igo8
Sygic Drive
TCPMP Player

When I try Tom Tom or Igo8 it then goes to a screen for me to choose day or night. I choose one of these and the unit just resets...The same happens for the other 2

Have loaded Igo8 on and have discvered that I can get it to run through file manager... How would I go about placing a shortcut would I be able to do it though file manager... and if I want to load new maps do I just place them in the maps directory on my storage card?
Thanks for any help

By mistake the tutorial listed the iGO8 folder as [iGO] several times. These should have been shown as [iGO8]. The page has now been updated. Sorry for any misunderstandings.

Adding maps:
    All new iGO8 maps go in the [iGO8/Content/Map] folder on the storage card. You should find a least one map already there called basemap.fbl.

    The Find option within the iGO main menu allows you to choose which map to search should you have more than one country installed on your storage card.

Shortcuts:
    o On the Navman, from the FileManager under the File menu there is an option called Create Shortcut. Use this to create shortcuts.
    o Next locate the folder called [Unlock] on your device. Possibly at [\My Flash Disk\Program Files\Unlock].
    o To add shortcuts to the Start Menu put them in [\My Flash Disk\Program Files\Unlock\Program].
    o To add icons to the desktop put them in [\My Flash Disk\Program Files\Unlock\Desktop].

Which is the best one? Do you mean which is the best GPS or which is the best version of Tomtom to use?

Best GPS
They're all very good. Take a look at the Sat Nav poll to see what other members are using on their Navman.

I used to favor Tomtom because of its rock solid stability, but I think map updates for v6 have stopped. Not to worry though. We now have iGO8 to thank for up-to-date maps on our PNAs. With Miomap 2008 just around the corner, it looks like we won't have to buy a whole new device for a few years yet.

Best version of Tomtom
V6.020

I am interested in loading Igo 8 on my ICN 530 but is it as stable to use as Miomap 3.2 which I think is great?

Also, where can I get the files from?

Yes it is stable. The TTS feature may be a bit sluggish with DEM and 3D buildings enabled, but with normal voices it all works flawlessly.

I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for if you use the Search tool on the same site you downloaded iGO8. The TTS option is enabled like any other voice in iGO. I believe it's called "TTS Susan US Female" under the voice option menu within iGO8.

Thanks Admin, I have everything working now including the TTS susan.

The only issue I have with her voice is it is a little quiet when I am driving with my roof down but I will search to see if I can increase the volumn and if I can, i will post a reply here so other people can do it.

I also have a skin which anounces the spped cameras but the voice is a bit crackly so again, I will sort this out and let you know if i sort it out.

One thing that has confussed me is that you have said to turn off DEM

whats DEM as I can't find this setting

DEM is the Digital Elevation Data, the stuff that makes all the pretty hills etc.. To turn it off, go into SETTINGS-MAP-3D- Then set terrain detail to OFF. ALternatively, delete the file from the DEM directory..

I am on the Navman 520 and everything works perfectly other than Text-to-speech voices, but to be honest, the rest of the software is so awesome that I aint really that bothered (would be nice to find a way of getting around the memory requirements though).. Defintely the best GPS software I have ever used. And the motion of the map is smoooooooth even at full detail.

Not sure what could cause your problem.. Have you copied the POIs into the Content/poi folder on the SD card?
