Yeah, thnx dmart123
I've also come to the conclusion that prz's method is the best one for me.
I also downloaded the latest version of wolfNCU directly from the creators homepage, but having some difficulty now with the Korean characters displaying as squares or question marks..
Is there away around it, or is there an English version? |

Do you use GSFinder? it will create shortcut on iCN
Solution:
Here is copy of my shortcut (icn530) WolfNCU in root of storage card.
Just copy and paste into Startup directory on storage card (make sure WolfNCU.exe in dir as follows as this is where shortcut points:
\Storage Card\WolfNCU
WolfNCU Shortcut:
http://www.fast-files.com/getfile.aspx?file=4859
Note if you used standard AppStartupSec unlocker it won't run shortcut only exe files. You would need to use NavcarCE unlock to run shortcuts.
To resolve this I have compiled a version of AppStartupSec.exe that does run shortcuts (I use it on my own iCN530).
New AppStartupSec.exe (Unlocker)
http://www.fast-files.com/getfile.aspx?file=4860
Just rename original AppStartupSec to AppStartupSecNav.exe
Place new AppStartupSec.exe in same location as original
Everything else standard.
Place shortcut to WolfNCU (oe any other tool/taskbar) in Startup
Reset
Now unlocked to run other apps.....
To restore device to normal simply delete unlock file and rename AppStartupSecNav.exe back to AppStartupSec.exe
I am now working on a version that will run either/both (exe and lnk) from Startup. |

Is more a matter of choice. Do you prefer to run shortcut or exe. Using WolfNCU is easier to run shortcut at Startup. This is what I do.
Need to understand the history
NavcarCE unlock came first for iCN510,520. It ran shortcuts from Startup.
Someone developed AppStartupSec unlock for iCN530. It runs exe files from Startup directory. Then NavcarCE ulock was recompiled to enable unlocking of iCN530 too.
Later models don't have a NavcarCE file so AppStartupSec unlock provided solution for those but they couldnt run shortcuts in Startup.
Main difference between unlocking models is directory structure on devic.
Unlocker needs to point to original launch files if no SD card found.
Problem is different models put these files in different places
Presently it seems nearly all icn5xx-7xx and all N series have an AppStartupSec.exe so can be unlocked with the second option.
My adaption of the AppStartupSec unlock includes all known paths and so should work with all models. Unlike earlier versions, this one runs shortcuts (because I prefer to do that). So far only able to test on my own 530 and it works flawlessly. |
