Glad to hear you got it going.
A problem with madchris taskbar was keys losing function in navman after on/off/on. Nice looking bar but I went back to prz taskbar for reliable use if I need Navman running.
Let us know how you go with your new taskbar (maybe you can fix the bug). I'm sure there will be plenty of 550 owners interested in it. Smile

If you want to keep trying then I'm not ready to give up yet Smile
Make sure you have removed prz NavcarCE.exe mod file.
Is your original NavcarCE.exe file still renamed to NavcarC1.exe (if not try renaming it). A look in the AppStartupSec with winhex shows it points to NavcarC1.exe so renaming is worth a try.
If it is already called NavcarC1 then rename it NavcarCE.
You will need to make a new shortcut but if you keep same name (and put shortcut in shortcut folder) you won't need to update copyfile.
See if that makes a difference.
If not, try this:
Start Navman gps (don't close it).
Turn off GPS and take out SD card.
Turn GPS back on. What happens?
Afterwards put back sd card and soft reset.

Hello dmart123!

I think i have sorted out the problem Very Happy it seems like the icn wont load the sd card after i have pushed off button and later on button.
I have now Prz24 and done installation on \My Flash Disk\Startup
\My Flash Disk\Start
Also have programfiles on \My Flash Disk\
everything seems to load now. The problem i have is that i have the tomtom maps on sd card and have to softreset to get tomtom to find them. I cant save everything on flash mem havent got enough space. Have someone else done installation on sd card and got it running? Are there some settings in control/Storage manager i have to do to get icn load the sd card?

Thanks / David

In disk manager (via control panel) When I select my SD and look at properties. It says
name Part00
Size 1983495 Sectors
type 0x06
File system fatfsd.dll
Flags 0x00000010
Buttons all greyed out except 'Dismount' (which of course I wouldn't like to press!)

If it helps here is a copy of my units reg setting for SD Card
Only other option may be reformat to basic fat format? - drastic but if you backup content nothing lost. Rolling Eyes

There is post by paob in unlocking icn550 thread where a problem with SD card and not finding files was fixed by reformat from fat32 to fat16.

Settings in In disk manager is the same only differense is Size Sectors.
Tryed to format sd card, i tryed both fat and fat32 but no differense. Checked the reg setting for SD Card and mine are different than yours, but im no god in editing registry so i wont do that. Bye the way if i change and hardseset wont it go back to factory setting then?

Yes settings will go back to standard.
TRE is reg editor for the PPC that works well on Navman.
In TRE view options menu there is a ST button. It associates .reg files with TRE so you can create a text file in notepad like so:
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\SDCARD]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\SDCARD\SDBusDriver]
"Order"=dword:00000020
"Dll"="SDBusDriver.dll"

Then save it as Myregfilename.reg
Create a shortcut to it and run it. TRE will import it into registry. Also has a silent mode so running shortcut imports without showing TRE at all!!

If that too complicated you can import/export keys from within TRE directly - very versatile.

I have it set up to restore to reg all 'added software' settings after a hard reset by running a shortcut to my own .reg file.

Only other thing I can think of is how fast is your SD card?
I have transend Ultra II 1 GB 10MB/sec
Maybe try another brand.
Failing that a call to Navman techos Rolling Eyes

Happy to have helped, that's what these forums are for.
I'm pleased to hear you have got it all sorted now. Very Happy
If you decide to replace the SD card I recommend looking for one that has high data transfer rate (x60 and up) as slow transfer rates probably cause most problems (Mine is 1GB and works well).

After trying all unlock methods my current preference (simple and reliable) for 530 owners is to use Prz's NavcarCE.exe.
Preferred menu choice is WolfNCU (with Wolf Taskbar).

This unlock method is easiest. Just locate NavcarCE (found in My FlashDisk\Navman\Lightning directory) and rename it to NavcarC1.exe. Now copy prz's NavcarCE to the same directory. That's it - unlocked.

Follow tutorial directions to setup the Start and Startup directories. Put WolfNCU and or WolfTaskbar in route of SD card with shortcuts for both in Startup. Reboot and enjoy.
