Can all the people who got TomTom to work post their experience with TT in terms of speed and usability ...

I am using maps_6.75_D/A/CH and in general the operation of the TomTom
interface is lagging and is incredibly slow ....

Has anyone encountered issues like this?

Additional Comments:
1) The Windows CE dll are not needed to be copied extra
the only file needed was ole32.dll located in the /Program Files/Unlock/Windows directory.
2) Maps not found error can be solved by editing the autoreg.reg of the S30 unlock by adding a line ... (see reg fixes in numerous threads)
3) in TOMTOM the device ID and so on is generated at startup in a *.bif
file -> when opened with an editor the essential codes for map key readout are found ...

My Verdict:
IGO2006 operates very smooth and responsive on the F10
The interface is excellent structured and is very comfortable.
After playing with it - I start to really like it.

Routing: no can tell the difference since TT is too slow to enter Destinations and tap icons (delay of 10 secs or so ..) - each time!!

SmartSt: the original soft of the Navman works nice and clear, no useless gimmicks - barebone functional -- like it to.

The TomTom speed issue is annoying and I would like to find out if this is something that can be done about it - or not.
I tried to increase the memory - no change whatsoever ..

Any input is appreciated.

Hi,

my experience with TT speed is it depends on the speed of your SD card. I tried to run it on an pretty old 256MB Transcend SD card and it was somehow slow, at least the startup. But when I dumped it to a faster card (133x Pretec Cheetah or 4GB SDHC A-Data class6) it worked very fast and the startup time is much faster then iGO 2006.

I am using a standard 2GB SD card (Kingston) ...

well the IGO and TT reside on the same card ... I cannot see why the difference should be so big ...

When I wrote slow -- I really mean - it takes after loading TT,

more than 5-10 sec for each INPUT to respond ...

Hmm ...
