Hello people!
First of all I would like to tell you how much I appreciate your work here. This site has been very helpful.
I have a small problem. I unlocked my NAVMAN N20 following the instructions on this site.
Everything was ok, I installed Route66 and everything was fine.
But I wanted to add some more maps and my SD Card wasn't big enough.
I bought a bigger SD cards and I said to my self that I should reinstall Route66 as well.
Unfortunatelly, after cleaning some files on the NAVMAN I f***ed* it up:(
Now, when I start the device I get a blue screen almost like the one you get when you connect the device to PC.
After installing NAVMAN Unlock, the device crashes showing me the startup screen.
When I get to this phase I can't do anything but Turn It off and Turn it on again.
After I turn it on again, the history repeats...
Same problem again and again:(
Can someone help me?
PS. Neither the old card work now.
PS2. Sorry for my bad English I am from Romania |

I'm not sure understanding you well, but I can assist you removing the Unlock Hack manually, if this is helpfull for you.
Do you have the following files? (Maybe you do not see the extension.)
\Program Files\Navman\AppStartupSec.exe (8 KB)
\Program Files\Navman\AppStartupSec.mscr
\Program Files\Navman\AppStartupSec.bak (> 20 KB)
\Program Files\Navman\Device.ini
\Program Files\Navman\MortScript.exe
Do you have this folder:
\Program Files\Unlock
If you have all this files (please note the filesizes) you can remove the unlock hack manually by this procedure:
1. Remove this files:
\Program Files\Navman\AppStartupSec.exe
\Program Files\Navman\AppStartupSec.mscr
\Program Files\Navman\Device.ini
\Program Files\Navman\MortScript.exe
2. Rename
\Program Files\Navman\AppStartupSec.bak
to
\Program Files\Navman\AppStartupSec.exe
3. Reboot your Navman
4. Remove the folder
\Program Files\Unlock
5. Make a hard reset (switch off and switch on the switch at the bottom
of your device) |

If the Navman folder is missing we know why your device doesn't boot.
Inside the Navman folder there should be the compelte SmartST software.
Since I don't know why this folder is missen - and since I'm not absolutely sure about the folder structure of your device I suggest somebody else with a Navman N20 device assist you further more.
Maybe you can find the missing software on CD shipped with the device or somebody else with a Navman N20 device can send a copy of this folder to you. |

Please try the following:
1. Make sure being able to see the file extensions in ActiveSync (There is anywhere an option setable - I don't remember where inside your Windows Explorer this option is)
2. Create a folder:
\Program Files\Navman
3. Copy Files:
\Program Files\Unlock\HackFile.exe -> \Program Files\Navman\AppStartupSec.exe
\Program Files\Unlock\HackFile.mscr -> \Program Files\Navman\AppStartupSec.mscr
\Program Files\Unlock\Device.ini -> \Program Files\Navman\Device.ini
\Program Files\Unlock\MortScript.exe -> \Program Files\Navman\MortScript.exe
... if I'm right you should be able to boot your Navman device after this in the unlocked state. Indeed you will not be able using SmartST - but the unlocked state is maybe more than a blue screen for you... |
