I have have the same problem as bodger001 had. I've used the newer wolfbar, and blank ini, but I still get popups and home config with little squares.

My install is Prz on a icn510, wolfncu is in storage card/WolfNCU20d .

Oh, and my NavcarC1 causes a WolfNCU execption error.

Any tips?

Thanks,

Tom de

How do make the shortcuts? I am using Windows Vista. Does this make a difference? I am unable to create the shortcuts needed inside the lightning folder for the Navcarc1 or for the taskbar. Any ideas?

Vista may not let you make the shortcuts.
Google GSFinder. It is freewarefile manager for PDA and works very well on Navman.
Just press and hold on exe file to bring up context menu, select shortcut and it will create the shortcut (all on your Navman) Smile Then rename to whatever and cut/paste to shortcut dir.

Not sure how you have setup your Navman.
Make sure the Wolftoolbar.ini is in same location as Wolftoolbar.exe. With prz's NavcarCE unlock you can put shortcuts in Startup (is method I use).

EDIT Now I use my own version of AppStartupSec modded to run shortcuts Available in first post of Developers thread.Very Happy

Put shortcut to WolfNCU and to Wolftoolbar (if wanted). Reset and it should go.
NavcarC1.exe should be your origninal NavcarCE.exe (just renamed).
A shortcut to NavcarC1.exe will run Nav software. Should not cause exception error with WolfNCU?
If you have used modded ApStartupSec the setup is different. It needs toolbar.exe and ini file in Startup dir.
Re popups and home config with little squares - may be missing ini file (assume you mean toolbar and not NCU??

Maybe copy ini files to your desktop, open with notepade and make sure data is not corrupt.
WolfNCU skin.ini needs
[Main]
SkinName=Name(320*240)
Where Name is the name of the chosen skin e.g Windows(320*240) or skin may not load properly.

My icn550 has NavcarCE.exe instead of SmartST_CE.exe. Navman->Preferences->About says it is using SmartST 2005 Release 2 Build: 3.90.1047 dt: 2005-10-10

Prz24 worked. Thanks a lot.

I have done the Pzr style of unlock and have sucessfully gotten the taskbar menu and the files contained in the 510 zip to work (paint, filemanager, Imageview, calculator, etc) I have also installed TCPMP and it works fine too...

The problem I am having is that every other program I install fails to launch Question . I am getting an error "Cannot find 'xxxxxxxxx' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are available"

As it stands now my ICN530 is set up with the following:

NavcarCE renamed to NavcarC1 and new NavCarCE in same directory

Directories created:

\My Flash Disk
\My Flash Disk\Start (contains all my shortcuts)
\My Flash Disk\Startup (contains taskbar menu program)
\My Flash Disk\Program Files (contains some of the programs)
\Storage Card\Program Files (contains some of the programs)
\Program Files (this is where some of the programs want to go when installed using their activsync installers
\Windows\appmgr (this is where I find some of the DLL and DAT files. after apps are installed)

Is it a PATH= issue for the OS ? how do I set it? Did I miss a step? Should I create a Config.sys entry?

Which ones dont run?
Generally if you copy the contents of Appmgr and Program Files back into their respective directories on the Storsge Card it the programs should find them.
Also, you can use WinCE Cab MAnager to edit the install path in a cab file so that it installs onto SD card.

So far the ones that have failed include:

Audible.com book reader
MSReader
GSfinder
mapopolis
PIMtoday

I am pretty versed on PDAs but this has got me stymied... Any help is appricaiated...

BTW Where can I get the WinCE cab manager you speak of?

Only use GSFinder. Have uploaded my copy as this works on 530. Maybe it will work for you.

WinCE Cab manager available here.

Trial allows you to use for a limited number of times all features.
