I installed MioMap 3.2 on my Navman 530 and it works but it goes horizontal and I try to correct it by using GAPI because it resets it to 0 from 270. I dont know what is going on. Can someone help? thanks.

Hi there !

Another question : the clock signal received from the GPS Satellite, on my device, is wrong. It's about 9 hours back than the correct one of my location (GMT+1).
I would like to have the clock automatically adjusted.

Anyone know if it's a settings issue ? Or maybe there is a registry key where i can put my regional setting ?

Thank you
Dave

Depends on Mio version being used and (i think) ICN model too.
With MIO3.2 jan 2007 update and ICN530 I have success with following In sys.txt settings (note GAPI 3.08 gx.dll setting differ from Mio gx.dll settings).
Admins settings are different as he has a different unit to me.

Set up your time and timezone via contrl panel time setting. You need to rotate screen to see the timezone part at the bottom of the window.
Save and exit.
Run TRE or similar reg edit software and export al the Timezone info. As an example, if you lived downunder in Australia near Sydney you would get something like the following.
------------------------------
REGEDIT 4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Time Zones]
"Default"="AUS Eastern Standard Time"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Time Zones\AUS Eastern Standard Time]
"Display"="(GMT+10:00) Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney"
"Dlt"="AUS Eastern Daylight Time"
"TZI"=hex:\
a8,fd,ff,ff,00,00,00,00,c4,ff,ff,ff,00,00,03,00,00,00,05,00,02,00,00,00,00,\
00,00,00,00,00,0a,00,00,00,05,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,00,00

--------------------------------------
Save it as a .reg file named TZfix.reg on root of Storage Card
After a hard reset simply import it back into registry with TRE.
Mio, TomTom etc will then report correct timezone info.
Note next time you run Navman software it will return to default setting and you will need to reimport the reg setting before using other GPS software.

EXCELLENT !! it worked !! now time settings are ok, and even automatic night/day switch Smile

Thank you !!

I've had to change just the top tree name :

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Time Zones]
"Default"="Pacific Standard Time"

To :

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Time Zones]
"Default"="Central Europe Standard Time"

And everything goes well Smile
Saved a copy of the registry for future restore Smile

Thank you again
Dave

Ok getting close now. There is a new version of gapi from wincesoft which supports my device and am using that now. The display shows up correctly with the original data.zip in lanscape which is perfect except now the buttons seem to be shifted to the right and does not match the screen. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks

Well good news. I've found a copy of Miomap PNA that works for my Gonav with the newest GAPI 3.09. I've used the same sys.txt willson2k posted except with the extra gps info to set the com port and stuff. It works great, thanks for all your help.

Hi !

I own an original (now unlocked) ICN510.

I've *cough* found *cough* a copy of MioMap 3.2 and wanted to install to try how it work.
I followed your instructions but i can't even start the installation.

My bootloader version is 3.00.0008

What i've done :
- Unpacked zip files, found a structure like this :

[dir] 2577
[dir] MioMap (around 990Mb)
[exe] setup.exe

I copied all this on a new SD 1Gb card, FAT formatted, and inserted into the unlocked icn510, then i copied the aygshell into miomap folder and gx.dll too, then tried a soft-reset.... nothing... an hard-reset...nothing..
So i've opened the Filemanager on icn, searched for the setup.exe and started... but i get a message saying like "file not found,check path..." and so on...

It seem that this .exe doesn't work on my gps. Sad
Btw, i was able to run it and install it on PocketPC2003 emulator on my pc... Confused

So... it's because icn510 use WinCE4.2 ?

But... on the first page of this thread i've seen someone that installed the software on the 510... how you done that ?

Help please

Thank you

Very Happy f.krueger

Miomap is run from a file called Miomap.exe in your Miomap folder; but Miomap.exe is not included with the installation files, it is created during the installation process.

The problem is that you can't install Miomap onto the Navman in the conventional manner by trying to run setup.exe or autorun.exe. It just won't work. No install no Miomap.exe.

You'll either have to find a *cough* cracked version of the Miomap.exe file and put it into the Miomap folder on your Storage Card, or install it onto your emulator (as you have).

When using the emulator method, the Miomap.exe file should be somewhere within [Program Files] folder on the emulator. Copy this file to the Miomap folder on your storage card.

Don't forget to copy the font file to the [windows] folder.

......You can also rename the application.dat file to Mio.exe if it doesn't install through installer.
