| I followed the instructions but, was not sucessful in making the program run. Is there any instructions on how to install miomap completely from the beggining, i have all the files but am not sure of where they should be stored on my Navman. This tutorial is really good but it starts from the point of already having the miomap installed and just changing some files around. Could someone please guide me through installing miomap to begin with. I have already unlocked my navman. Thanks in advance. |

You buy Miomap pre-installed on an SDcard, stick it in your Windows Mobile device and run it. The actual Miomap.exe file will be found in [Program Files/Miomap] on the device, so you'll need to copy this file to [Storage card/Miomap] (or where ever the Miomap folder is) on your Windows Mobile device. Finally, transfer the [Storage Card/Miomap] folder over to your Navman's Storage Card.
Rather than wasting time drawing out the whole folder/file structure of [Miomap] here's a small:
video
...showing what files are needed and where they go within the [Miomap] folder on the Navman. I can't capture Miomap running on the video, but it does run. Honest.
Note: the Miomap.exe icon is orange. If you see a blue icon then you're using iGO.
The location of Miomap on the SD card isn't important. To lessen any confusion with the Tomtom 6.01 fix, where [Storage Card\Miomap] is taking the place of [My Documents\Miomap], I decided to place the main Miomap folder here: [Storage Card\Apps\Miomap].
You don't need to worry about registry settings since Miomap will create these when you run it for the first time.
Make sure you're using the August build of Miomap 3.2 |

I have been able to put the MioMap 3.2 on my Navman 510. Thanks for the help, I am so excited to see how well it directs me from state to state. FYI: I don't think I let you guys know that I am in the US - Massachusetts.
Here is a pic.

Nice one Jary!
The latest version of GAPIforHPC's [v3.08] is out and it now has better support for Miomap.
There's more information here. |

iGOPOIExplorer: Import POIs from GoogleEarth
iGOPOIExplorer will allow you to import POI's from applications such as Google Earth and Tomtom into your Miomap's iGO.db file. It also has a cool feature that allows you to search your Miomap POIs on Google earth. And it's great for just organizing your current Miomap POI's too, or backing them up if you have to delete and replace iGO.db with a new one.
Download here: iGOPOIExplorerBeta
For more information see the Adding POIs to the Mio C310x thread at gpspassion.com
Remember to always backup your iGO.db file before updating it.
Installing Igo 2006
If you want to install iGO2006 (summer edition) there's a new tutorial here.
BTW Miomap is faster than iGO. |

How to use the original data.zip skin
As stated earlier, the new GapiForHPC v3.08 has better support for Miomap. As such, you can now use the original Miomap data.zip skins on the Navman.
Change the contents of the SYS.TXT file to this:
| Code: | [debug]
smart_2d=1
slowsim=1
loop_sim=1
[interface]
;mio=1
landscape=0
portrait=1
width=320
height=240
base="ui_mio/"
basel="ui_mio/"
[speedcam]
usemio=-12,90,37,27 |
You'll now be able to use any custom/original Miomap 3.2 skin on the Navman. (fingers crossed) Of course, my stage 3 data.zip files will no longer work with these settings.

Need a little advice.
Have had Mio working on and off. At first when starting Mio, Gapi rotated screen and after closing MIO screen had to be manually put back to portrait.
Found a combination of mio files that worked but rotating screen was a pain.
Playing with different files I finally got MIO to start, GAPI to run, Screen NOT rotate, default scheme worked, exit mio and screen was landscape. I thought prob was solved till I ran another program and rotated screen. Next time I tried, MIO launched GAPI and Gapi rotated the screen. My MIO scheme no longer worked.
So, at one point GAPI was not rotating screen when MIO started and all was ok. Now back to original problem, MIO starts GAPI. GAPI rotates screen. MIO loads and buttons dont work.
Have tried a range of data zips from PCA and deleting igo.db. Still no luck.
Please - how can I stop GAPI rotating screen to portrait mode when started by MIO????

Hi Dmart,
My iCN520 GAPI settings:
Quit out of Nyditot Virtual Display before running Miomap to ensure the Navman is in its default landscape mode. If you are using the new SYS.TXT settings, then DO NOT use any of my data.zip files listed at the start of this thread. Whatever Display orientation I use in Miomap's General Settings, the application will always run in the proper 320x240 landscape mode.
You may be using the wrong version of Miomap. (Check your private messages for more info...) |

ICN 530 not using nyidot. 530 has chorientate which allows screen to be rotated (just create shortcut to windows dir ( file) Make rotation a breeze.
Which version of prz24 menu are you using? I tried v3 but menu wont resize when in portrait mode. I used to have an earlier version that worked on 530 and resized in portrait but no longer available and I overwrote it |

HI Admin
Tried replacement vers. Same issue.
Need to find why HPCs GAPI defaults to 270 degrees for Landscape on a ICN530.
Mio runs gapi and switches ICN530 to to 0 degrees (Landscape on a 510/520 ?) and then things turn to crap. Buttons dont match screen. Only match getting now is 530 in portrait/Mio in Landscape. Unfortunately setting to rotate mio are off screen so can't set it to reboot in correct orientation.
Nuff for now...... |

Hi Admin
I now have mio working in Portrait mode on ICN530 (
Need to first manually change screen orientation to portrait then use following setting in sys.txt
[debug]
smart_2d=1
slowsim=1
loop_sim=1
[interface]
mio=1
landscape=0
portrait=1
width=240
height=320
base="uip_mio/"
basel="uip_mio/"
[speedcam]
usemio=-12,90,37,27
Would have assumed the following would give landscape. Will try soon.
[interface]
mio=1
landscape=1
portrait=0
width=320
height=240
base="ui_mio/"
basel="ui_mio/"
If 530 in portrait mode, starting mio launches GAPI but doesn't rotate screen again, so Portrait mode set works ok.
2D response is good. 3D seems a bit slower in tracking.
TomTom also launches GAPI but doesn't rotate screen so works ok.
Must be something with my mio that makes it want to rotate screen before launching (maybe becus mio comes off my PDA which is portrait). |

Problem solved by changing Mio.exe.
Can now launch in landscape, and no rotating screen
Prefer Navman version so after all this will now remove Mio, just wanted to see it working LOL. |
