Hi, I found the way to use another software on the F10. Surprisingly, it is very simple: Just conect the device at USB and the computer will detect it as a disk unit. Navigate to "Program Files\Navman\SmartST_CE" In this folder is located the nvigation software. You mai erase all it's content (My advice is to have a safety copy of it before deleting, in case you will want to return to the original state) and replace it with a software at your choice. Personaly, I used IGO (the PNA version), using the small (8,5k) gx.dll, from the PDA version of IGO. IMPORTANT! You must rename the executable of the new software into "SmartST_CE.exe". Then edit the sys.txt to have the com port set on 2 and the baudrate at 4800. Also, you should add as the first line "sdcardpath="\\Storage Card\\"", so IGO will search for the maps on the card, where you must put them into a folder called "MAPS". That's all! Tried it, works perfect! The same procedure will work for any other navigation software able to run under WinCE (MIO map, Destinator, Tom-Tom ported for PNA, etc)
I hope tou will find this info usefull.....Enjoy!
You can find the IGO kitt at

All You need is to paste it into Program Files\Navman\SmartST_CE and download the maps you want, wich you must put on the card, in the MAPS folder. |

Thanks Adiminca for the information - sounds easy to do
Were you able to see the Navman folders directly with Explorer or did you need to load ActiveSync onto your PC
The link you provide to the IGO files has been removed. I have sent you a provate message asking for help to find the files
Thanks and Regards |

I don't remember well, but it's possible that I might have installed some Navman drivers a few months ago....You should search for any available Navman drivers and install them. It doesn't use Active Sync.
PS. I just checked my computer: I did install earlier the NAVMAN F20 SERVICE PACK. Maybe that is why it saw it directly. Here it is:

Thank you for your reply, i've yet installed this Service Pack. My Navman doesn't show up when connecting it to my pc (It only charges). So, if i understand this right, your Navman shows up in My Computer as a storage disk when you connect it to your pc? |

Adiminca I can confirm that after install of Active Sync -
P.S. Reb00t - us postedt the F-20 Update --- which is wrong!
I can access all files on the device using explorer!
Eventhough active sync does state an USB error - it is mapped as a drive.
I already updated the F10 with the correct - service Pack ...
and did a backup (saftey first) by copying all files to my HDD.
Can someone enlighten me - what the IGO part is?
Can someone post me a link with screenshots or a link where to find the LGO to test it?
cheers

Thank You!
I followed Your instructions and Navman F10 works with iGO8 now.
The only problem I experience is how to make it work with SD Card where I would like to store additional maps, etc.
I've tried to apply changes to sys,txt adding sdcardpath="\\Storage Card\\" but Navman still recognizes uploaded to ROM only maps.
Would anyone please explain SD card directories structure and changes to sys.txt to make Navman F10 work with information placed on SD card in iGo8 case?

| Is there any way to turn on the back light or make the screen brighter on the F10 with igo8 running as it is a bit dark? |
