I will post a "how to" very soon, because you will have to do some adjustments before it will work.
MN7 is MUCH better than the 6-series:
Fast - indeed VERY quick in calc. a route.
Better graphics - looks better.
Address input: Better and faster - like IGO/MIO. Works great!
Maps: Looks better. Now each countries are separated in a map-folder.
Refreshrate: Is slightly better.
Summary: MN7 has become a great navigational tool!! |

You need Navigon MN7 2110 max for PNA.
Also you need Q2 - 2008 map.
Copy the main folder NAVIGON and all of its contents at the root of your SD card. Then do some editing:
Go to SD\NAVIGON\Settings and open the file: ApplicationSettingsPathes . Inside the file you will see:
<UserSettings>/My Flash Disk/NAVIGON/Settings</UserSettings>
Change this to:
<UserSettings>/Storage card/NAVIGON/Settings</UserSettings>
Then - Inside the same folder (settings) - open the file called: UserSetting
. Find and delete the following:
<DayNightMode>0</DayNightMode>
Inside the same file (UserSettings) set the GPS right:
<GPS>
<Type>NMEA</Type>
<GPSPort>2</GPSPort>
<TMCPort />
<Baudrate>4800</Baudrate>
<DRVPrefix />
</GPS>
Then - also inside the "settings" folder, find and open the file called ApplicationSettings. Find <ExitBehaviour>3</ExitBehaviour> and change this to <ExitBehaviour>4</ExitBehaviour> (this is to aviod MN7 hanging i memory after EXIT)
Then its time for the map. Place the map folder INSIDE the NAVIGON main folder. The MN7 maps are seperated into several pieces more like tomtom, so it`s important that ALL of its content goes wit your chosen maps. Inside the map folder you put the reality view file. If the map-thing is not correctly done, you will get a MAV error!
Now start up Navigon. Maybe you get a error, but don`t worry: Just make a soft reset and then try again.
Problems to be solved:
DAY/Night function does not work on Navman S-Series.
MN7 is a great navigational tool. MN7 is a major improvements compared to MN 6. But there`s still some irritating things: The map is still hard to see in sharp daylight. Also i think that the letters for speed, hight, remaining time etc. are too small. But overall a VERY fine navigator!!
Have fun !! |

You mean MN7, right??
On my S-90, TMC is working well.
Is the only problem the TMC, or do you get other errors = when and how?? |

I am using MN6 without TMC. It works like a charm including reality view.
Tried MN7 but keep getting the Illegal.. error message on startup.

Hi,
I don't know if this is off-topic or not, but I don't know where else I can ask... The method you described also works to run MN7 on a Navigon 7110. However, the tmc does not work on this device with MN7 (works great with 6.5). Did you change/add anything special to get the TMC working in MN7? (In MN7 I don't even get the red triangle, telling me the tmc is not online).
Thanks in advance,

Yes, thats correct. You have to set the TMC like this:
/settings and open the file UserSettings.xlm
In there you will find
<TMCBaudrate>115200</TMCBaudrate>
Change this to
<TMCBaudrate>14400</TMCBaudrate>
These are the settings for my device (it works). What ells i have done to get TMC working i can`t remenber
But see if this works out |

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply! There is also an entry in the xml about <tmc port> Is this port device-dependent? Any way I could find out what value I need to supply? I tried a few of them, but so far no cookie...
Thanks in advance,

So, Finaly I have MN7 working on my S90i.
Does anyone know how to get the TMC to work.
I have set the right port number and baudrate in "usersettings.xml" and "usersettings.default" but the TMC wont work ..

At first i thought that it was working, but its only showing the sign. What is needed is to see if the old settings from the 2100 vers. 6,5 can be implemented in 7,0max. They have changed the TMC |

How did you get the sign to show? I never got there (on my 7110). What are your TMC/GPS settings? (port/baudrate/...)
