Hi all, now we have unlocked the Navman, has anyone tried to unlock the maps.
I have an ICN 530 and it came with the European maps but I need to pay to access them which is odd as I have them on CD.
I tried today to copy them the maps to the correct folders and change a few ini files and I think it is now down to a file called CDKeys.dat which has a "serial number" in it. If you change this file/delete one of the serial numbers it doesnt see the maps.
so I am trying to crack this file and any help would be appreciated.
Or I could try and crack the SmartST Activation Client program so it doesnt go off to Navman servers to get the code, but I dont have any ideas on how to do this. |

Only for my interestion: Why do you try to crack SmartST?
Since I'm using Mio Map I don't want to use Navman SmartST further more. I'm thinking to remove the whole SmartST from my device.
For users without an external smart card this is the best way I think. |

well I downloaded the TT stuff but I couldnt get it working. So I thought I would go back to Navman software.
the reason I want to do this is I am going to France in a July and I want to use my satnav and I thought that it's silly we cant crack the smartST when I have the CD's with the Europe maps on. |

I would like to second the question!
I've just bought an S80 and the misleading advertising is abominable. The Australian point of sale info states clearly that the unit comes with the maps for Europe - Only after buying it and finding I couldn't access them did I go online and find out that the fine print says you have to pay an activation fee - and it is fine print - not obvious at all.
If anyone has any suggestions on accessing the maps on the DVD or how to get Europe maps from somewhere else to work I'd love to hear them - the extra AUD200 for the EU maps I thought I was already getting for is not something to be sneezed at.
Cheers |
