You're probably aware that many modern commercial PPC games will run on the Navman, but searching for modern PPC applications that work can be a real soul destroyer. This thread is dedicated to those rarefied applications that run if aygshell.dll and gx.dll (GAPIforHPC) are added to their folders.
Please add to this list.
Simple Tunes (iPod Clone)
Ectaco Pocket UT (Universal Translator)
MameCE3 v9.5 (Mame Emulator)

Conduits Pocket Spark (Flash 3 player)

Whilst it is possible to install Calligrapher v7.5 on the Navman with aygshell.dll, (register in portrait mode and run in landscape), you'll find many of the features won't work too well.
However, it is still possible to upgrade parts of Calligrapher v6 and retain all of its functionality. You can use the latest keyboard tool from Calligrapher v8.4 (CalliGrapher2003.cab) if you copy the file CgrKbrd.dll to the [Calligrapher] folder of v6.6. Use an application such as e-PocketSetup or WinCab Manager to extract individual files from CalliGrapher2003.cab.
Try replacing the CgrRecEnu.dll (Recognition Engine) file too. |

Thanks for the posts brauntonian. Keep them coming guys.
Bored with Calc98? Try one of these...
MyCalculator (Portrait only)
spacetimemobile.com
SpaceTime 2.0
(Portrait only)
(Can't post Navman screen grabs due to gx.dll)
How to install:
Copy
aygshell.dll
imgdecmp.dll
note_prj.dll
zlib.dll
...from the Xania dll collection to the [SpaceTime Mobile SpaceTime 2.0] folder
Replace native gx.dll with GAPIforHPC gx.dll |

Resco FileExplorer 2003 CE Version
Explorer2003_h03.ARMv4.CAB
Features:
Drag n Drop files
Zip support
Filetype assignment
Encryption
Search
Nothing extra needed for this one. Install in the default location on the Navman. You can then move explorer.exe from [Program Files] to the Storage card and run it from there afterwards. BTW to delete a file/folder hold down on it and select delete from the pop-up menu. The internal viewer doesn't seem to work. PPC version won't work so install the CE version. Personally, I prefer FileManCE. |

Omega One Calc v2.3.1
Landscape and Portrait
Hmmm... exchange rates need to be updated
Here's the simplified installation procedure for Omega One Calc, complete with the needed hex-edited dlls.
download and unpack missing dlls.zip
Copy the dlls from "dummy dll pack\Navman Easy Dlls\1Calc" to the 1Calc folder on your Navman. Replace all the original dll files with these new ones.
BTW To save space, all the 1-Calc**.htm files installed in the Windows folder can be deleted.
To update the currency rates in OneCalc, replace the currency.ini file with this one: www.journalbar.com/JB/currency.ini
Updated news:
One Calc v3.0.1 works on the Navman too. |

Oops! the xania dummy dlls weren't included in MadChris's new zip file. Sorry about that.
Anyway, here's an even bigger collection of dummies to try out.

Spb Time v1.1
Landscape and Portrait

Okay, you're probably sick of calculators by now. Here's how to install a nice timer/clock application.
SbpTime needs to be installed directly on the Navman. As with 1-Calc, this program can be used in
portrait or landscape mode.
Download and unpack:
missing dll pack
From [dummy dll pack\Navman Easy Dlls\Spb Time] copy:
AYGSHELP.dll
MFCCE301.dll
DocList.dll
...into the [Spb Time] folder on your Navman.
(*NOTE: if aygshelp.dll is missing use the one in the 1Calc folder from the pack)
Load SpbTime.exe into a hex editor and find/replace the following references.
AYGSHELL with AYGSHELP
mfcce300 with mfcce301
Set the time zone from Date/Time (portrait mode) via [windows/control.exe]. As you can see in the image above, I forgot to do this bit (hence 6:11 in London).
To use the alarm function hold the sylus down on the clock face to bring up the popup menu. You might need to hex edit [windows/AlarmPopup.exe] to get the alarm to work.
The option menu does not work but the various pull down menus do. Try out different aygshelps with this.
Changing Time Skins
To change or add skins to Spb Time, alter the following registry settings in TRE:
(My install path for the application is at [\Storage Card\Apps\Spb Time]. Change this to match your own install pathways)
| Code: | REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Spb Software House\Spb Time\Skins]
"White"="\\Storage Card\\Apps\\Spb Time\\White"
"Black"="\\Storage Card\\Apps\\Spb Time\\Black"
"Egypt"="\\Storage Card\\Apps\\Spb Time\\Egypt"
@="\\Storage Card\\Apps\\Spb Time\\Default" |
| Code: | REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Spb Software House\Spb Time\Settings]
"ActiveSkin"="White" |
Here I've set the clock skin to White. |

From the 1Calc folder copy these files to the AstroNavigator folder
aygshelp.dll
cellcore.dll
DocList.dll
imgdecmp.dll
mfcce301.dll
zlib.dll
note_prj.dll <<<-found in the AudiblePlayer folder
Load AstroNavigator.exe into a hex editor like HexWorkshop.
Replace references to AYGSHELL with AYGSHELP
Replace references to mfcce300 with mfcce301
The GPS auto-detect/scan feature has a tendency to freeze the application. If it happens, just soft-reset and the next time you load AstroNavigator the GPS will work. |

NP Dave. Here's some serious 'cool s**t' for you.
PhoenixStudio 1.1
Portrait Only
Requirements:GAPIforHPC
Nyditot Virtual Display
Simple Install Instructions:
Delete or replace the gx.dll
You'll have to kill Prz24's Taskbar to get at the icons on the bottom row.
Use headphones with volume control for this one. The Navman's mono
speaker is not going to do you any favours.
One more thing... Where can I download more PNX songs? |

Z4Music
Copy aygshelp.dll to the [Z4Music] folder.
Hex-edit Z4Music.exe and replace the reference to aygshell with aygshelp.
Set the path to the SamplesDir in the registry. |

There are several PPC versions of iMusic. This hack was done on the PPC2002 version.
iMusic 2.10
Download and unpack missing dlls.zip
Copy Ayshelp2.dll from "dummy dll pack\Navman Easy Dlls\1Calc" to the iMusic folder on your Navman.
Rename Aygshelp2.dll to Aygshelp.dll
Load iMusic.exe into a hex-editor (UltraEdit or HexWorkshop)
Replace references to AYGSHELL with AYGSHELP
Now you'll have access to the full configuration windows. |
