After unlocking simply delete the unlock folder to remove all traces.

@ auzieblogger,

Another Melbournite! I was born & bred down there - moved to the NSW/QLD boarder to start a business in 2000.

That's got me thinking, since I haven't updated yet .
Route calculation isn't that bad right now for me in Melb (VIC)
Maybe I could try and hack it as it is and report my findings ...

I've been reading around the forums about the "Australian S-Series Update" - some ppl say it makes no difference to route calculation times. I noticed a HUGE difference mainly in alternative route re-calculations. (when you miss a turn due to roadworks etc) Leaving my work for home the shortest route is displayed on Navman which happens to be VERY long in peak-hour traffic. Before the update I would drive 3-5 Klms before the alternative route would display. Since the update it displays the new route 500m after I miss the 1st routes suggested turn.

Would be great if you could install the hack before you plan to do the official Aussie update & post you're results here. That would ALMOST confirm to me (& @ least 1 other member posting here) if the update does modify the flash somehow blocking or killing the hack from working properly - that would be very sad as I would have to resort to a JTAG flash. (have to open Navman voiding warranty)

Did the unlock on a stock s30 ...
unfortunately ...
- no keyboard
- "Navman Unlock" folder in Programs is empty

From app_startup.txt:-
Application Version 5.00.0104 2007-09-10T23:40:41
Mapcore Version: T-core-v1_30_0089 2007/08/30-16:29:17

Last line :-
"RunSDCardExecutable(SmartST_CE - Run()): CreateProcess(\Storage Card\S30\auto.exe) failed, error 2"
is that my problem ??

- Tried install TomTom6 using method described here
http://navmanunlocked.forumwise.com/navmanunlocked-thread495.html

When I try and run "TomTom Navigator.exe" I get the following error
"TomTom Navigator is not a valid windows CE application"

I have installed GAPI succesfully though
any ideas ?

@ auzieblogger,
Thanks a bomb for installing unlock before doing the Australian S-Series update. It confirms that the update DOES NOT block the keyboard from loading. I thought *maybe* it could have as another member posting here said they lost their keyboard and taskmanager AFTER installing Aussie update.

I have EXACTLY the same line in my 'app_startup.txt'. Also a few other errors @ the top. I have no idea if that could cause it - someone else more experienced could answer that. I have noticed that people that have successfully unlocked (with keyboard, etc) still have errors in their 'app_startup.txt'.
My shortcuts were all missing after unlock too. (except SmartST) Nothing in 'navman unlock' folder - no shortcuts to unlock files & no 'Remove/uninstall' unlock. (TRE, softreset, etc) so I added them manually. (and they all work)

Tried for DAYS to install TomTom 6 with the same error. If I removed wininet.dll I get "cannot find TomTom or one of its components".
BUT - last night I FINALLY got it going - quite by accident! Also 'AstronavigatorII' and many other apps that reported "* is not a valid windows CE application" error also began to work flawlessly! Laughing

I will post my unethical method (not descibed anywhere that I've found yet) in appropriate thread. (S30 & TomTom-How to install? (IT WORKS NOW!!!)

P.S. Sorry its taken so long to reply - have a really nasty case of the Flu - maybe thats what I needed to work out the TomTom problem!
