Check the manual and see whether you can use keyboard to make changes to settings. EG TomTom day/night screen toggles with Esc key (00C4). If so it may be possible to use a proggrams such as AEKmapper to map the key function to the buttons on your device. I have done this on my 530. Buttons can be used for multi functions by using different configurations.
