Hello, mine name is markus from Germany.

I have tried to my Navman N20 unlock, after this files instaliert:

\\AppStartupSec.exe
\Storage Card\Start\Navman GPS
\Storage Card\Startup\Taskbar.exe
\Storage Card\Startup\taskbar.ini
\Storage Card\Startup\Taskbar
\Program Files\Navman\Ficino\NavcarC1.exe

However, I get the always following error massage: "A filename must be specified"

Can somebody help me there? Question

Hi Markus
Several ways to unlock navman so first need to be sure what you have done.
Method 1 Replace NavcarCE.exe
Method 2 Replace AppStartupSec.exe

Method 2 has advantage that all unlockable Navmans seem to have this file but only some models have NavcarCE. Howeverthere are several versions of modded AppStartupSecs. One runs exe files and one runs shortcuts. (I personally prefer one that runs shortcuts as I can put exes in folders and keep everything neat - but that's just me).

To help you out need to now how files are stored on N20i.
Can you connect using activesynch and tell us what dirs you have on Navman. Look for Appstartupsec and NavcarCE in particular. If no NavcarCE you may have a SmartSTCE (or similar) file.
Once you provide that we can tell you how to proceed.

Thank you for your answer.

I Have in Navman:
\\Program Files\Navman\SmartSt_CE\SmartST_CE

and:
\\Program Files\Navman\SmartSt_CE\AppStartupSec

NavcarCE not found.

Markus
The link below is an unlocker which contains paths (as listed above) for your unit.
Universal unlocker for Navman (iCN and N series):
http://www.fast-files.com/getfile.aspx?file=6768
Copyfile.rar way to auto update registry when using TomTom6 (credits to MadChris)
http://www.fast-files.com/getfile.aspx?file=6769
Setup process:
Rename your existing AppStartupSec.exe to AppStartupSecNav.exe
Copy the AppStartupSec.exe (unlocker from link above) to same location on to your device.
Should now be:
\Program Files\Navman\SmartSt_CE\AppStartupSec.exe
\Program Files\Navman\SmartSt_CE\AppStartupSecNav.exe
Next:
Create Startup folder on SD card.
Place shortcuts to exe files into the startup folder
e.g
/Storage Card/Startup/toolbar.lnk
/Storage Card/Startup/copyfile.lnk
Now for taskbar and reg files:
/Storage Card/WolfNCU/toolbar.exe
/Storage Card/WolfNCU/toolbar.ini
/Storage Card/Copyfile/copyfile.exe
/Storage Card/Copyfile/copyfile.ini

That's it. All done!
To restore to default just rename AppstartupSecNav.exe file to AppstartupSec.exe
Toolbars:
If using wolftoolbar you don't need to have a Start directory on SD card just setup wolf toolbar to point to your programs like so.

dmart123,
I see you have route66 and navigon installed.
How are they compared to the other navigator programs?

Have tried different ones at different times .
Actally I still prefer Navman as number one choice of GPS.
TomTom and Igo/Mio would be a close second.
Mio have nicest looking maps but harder to save favourites. All have same level of details here.
Route 66 reminds me of TomTom but not as simple to use and maps looked very plain..
Pic is actually just to represent versatility of 530 unit for those who are unsure what will install and run.

It's difficult to decide, tomtom seems to be the more accurate one for me and it's easy to use.
On the other hand i like mio for it's looks.. lol
Well with todays extremely cheap sd prices i want to get them all Wink

Sorry for the offtopic, lets get back to markus original question Cool

Back on topic Razz
Instructions seem to have disappeared from thread. Wiki only says ypou must use PNA version (other versions won't run on WinCE4.2).
I think you just copy main.cab file to SD card and run from there .
Also you will need to add aygshell.dll to the Destinator directory.
SlidePlayer addon will not work on Navman so don't bother to install it.

(maybe admin can point to install directions). I can't find them Embarassed

Tahtu has redesigned the forum's frontpage so that the links point to tutorials on the Wiki portal, instead of pointing to the tutorial threads on this forum directly.

I should have made it clearer that the wiki portal is still far from complete and missing many of the tutorials found on this forum.

I will reset the affected frontpage links shortly since I'm not fond of the idea of sending members away from this site as soon as they get here.

Perhaps it might be better to reset the article links to their original thread locations. A compromise solution might be to include a little wiki graphic link to each article thereby giving members the option of choosing to follow the forum tutorial, or click on a wiki graphic and follow the wiki tutorial.
