Miomap v3.3 QVGA (March 2007)
Requirements:
The installation procedure for the uncracked version of Miomap v3.3 mirrors the Miomap v3.2 (march 2007) installation minus the [skin] sub-folder.
Once Miomap is installed on your storage card you'll need to make the following adjustments:
1) It would appear that Miomap have changed their configurations again, so you'll have to enter the [gps] settings into the sys.txt manually.
2) Because of the configuration changes the native gx.dll file of Miomap v3.3 is not compatible with the Navman iCN520. Therefore you will have to delete the gx.dll file in the [Miomap] folder and use gx.dll from GAPIforHPC instead.
3) Edit the sys.txt file and replace its contents with this code:
| Code: | [debug]
smart_2d=1
slowsim=1
loop_sim=1
[gps]
protocol = "NMEA"
port=2
baud=4800
[interface]
mio=1
landscape=0
width=320
height=240
base="mio/320_240/"
basel="mio/320_240/"
[speedcam]
usemio=-12,90,37,27
|
4) If you wish to re-map Miomap's hardware keys to fit the Navman buttons you can edit the main data.zip file and change the default key mapping in keybind.txt file to this:
| Code: | [default]
C2="ZOOMIN"
C1="ZOOMOUT"
C4="PREVSCREEN"
C5="MAINMENU"
C3="SETTINGS"
UP="TILTDOWN"
DOWN="TILTUP"
LEFT="ROTATELEFT"
RIGHT="ROTATERIGHT"
121="TOGGLEMUTE"
75="VOLUMEUP"
76="VOLUMEDOWN" |
You may need to adjust the sys.txt file [interface] settings if you're using an iCN530. See here for alternative [interface] settings for the iCN530. Ignore the base= and basel= settings at that link.
Now we need someone to post the Miomap 3.3 install instructions for widescreen Navmans. |

| Does anyone know how to change the device type from v3.3 sys.txt file? Older versions of Miomap used pna="devicename" or type="devicename". Nethier seem to work in v3.3. |

WQVGA
I' benn installed succesfully the Miomap 3.3 version on a ICN720, with this SYS.txt file
| Code: | [debug]
smart_2d=1
slowsim=1
loop_sim=1
[gps]
protocol = "NMEA"
port=3
baud=38400
[interface]
mio=1
landscape=0
portrait=1
width=480
height=272
base="mio/480_272/"
basel="mio/480_272/"
[speedcam]
usemio=-12,90,37,27 |
Replace the include gx.dll with GAPI dx.dll.
I've replaced the included license.db with the 3.2 version file.
It works, but the sound is very bad, distorted a lot, there is some problem with the ogg files in this device.

| Hardware ID errors are usually linked to Miomap's license.db file. Try replacing it with your v3.2 license.db (you may need to delete iGO.db as well). |

Fixed
Main diff for QVGA (320x240) users is keyboard search now same as iGO.
Am about to try a modded widescreen data file that may offer features currently available to wide screen units. |

When I run MIOMAP.exe from my storage card, I get this:
failed to open file:
ui_mio/loading.bmp
also...
Where can i find a copy of iGO.db? Lost mine in the war.
Thanks in advance.
O.K. SCRATCH ALL THE ABOVE.
Got all it to work. Now I get a HardwareIDerror.
Any thoughts?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
As the great Rosanna Danna said, "Nevermind".
I'll just stick to TomTom or Navcar. |

HardwareIDerrormay be related to missing/wrong licence.db or possibly PDA version not PNA.
failure to load ui_mio/loading.bmp may be entry in SYS.txt or wrong Data.zip
[interface]
mio=1
landscape=0
portrait=1
width=320
height=240
base="mio/320_240/"
basel="mio/320_240/" |

Any ideas how I could try to activate my Navman T1 traffic adapter to MioMap?
MioMap 3.3 works fine on my iCN 530 - but without TMC. |

A wild stab in the dark since I don't have TMC on my iCN520, but have you tried adding:
tmc_port = navman's tmc port
tmc_speed = navman's tmc speed
...to the [DEFAULT] setting in pocket_pc.ini in data.zip? |

Yes, I did. Additional I tried to use this values in the SYS.TXT - without luck:
[gps]
receiver = 2
ExtTmcPort = 1
receiver_status = 1
... but right now I found an external TMC adapter with a USB port which could work (german link):

Does the Mio Map V3 work on the US version ICN510?
Are there links to these? |
