Hi,
First of all, nice to see that people have hacked the navman's, nice job!
Ok. I was following the "Prz24" method for my 510, but I couldn't make shortcuts ( in vista ) to the startup folder, but I did everything else. The first 2 times the the icn510 booted ( after reset ), like I had done nothing.
So after search around a bit, i thought I'd rename 'AppstartupSec.exe'. Well the ICN booted, and ran " backup and restore"... It was back to Smart-ST. ummm, connected it back to the PC and no " My Flash Disk".
It boots and runs like normal, and can read maps and plot routes. I really like what I see on the site, and I'd like to try Wolf, and TT6 but I'm stuck on what to do next.
Any suggestions? Oh, I have SmartST 2005 installed, and all the patches.
Thanks,
Tom de |

Ummm... I guess I can create the shortcut on the desktop. But wouldn't that make the shortcut's path to the PC's desktop? ummm... think I'll try the install at home on my XP PC.
stickin' vista.
Thanks,

I have compiled an aplication which does not need shortcuts - Executes the *.exe from /StorageCard/Startup (Please see N20, N40 sections...... )

Ok, got it installed with my winXP PC at home. Pretty cool. I'm trying the WolfNCU stuff - again pretty cool, except I get some errors. squares in some of the popup messages, my NavcarC1 cause an "wolfncu.exe" exception.
Still got some tweaking to do .
thanks again,

Options
Install GS Finder on you navman and use it to create shortcuts.
To do this save GSfinder exe temporarily as NavcarC1 (after keeping copy of original).
Prz's NavcarCE will then load GS Finder instead of NavmanGPS (normal NavCarC1) on reset.
Use GSFinder (an explorer clone for PDA's) to create your shortcuts then replace NavcarC1 (GSfinder) with original NavcarC1 (NavmanGPS).
Reset and enjoy.
Or
Restore original Navman NavcarCE by renaming NavcarC1 (if you followed Prz unlock procedure).
Use Uday Chi's AppstartupSec.exe as follows:
Find AppstartupSec on your Navman.
Copy it to /Program Files/Navman directory and rename it to AppStartupSecNav.exe
Copy Uday Chi's AppStartup.exe to directory where original file was located. (Replace original)
Create Startup dir and place WolfNCU exe and WolfNCU ini there (or use another toolbar/taskbar if you prefer.
New AppStartup.exe operating sequence:
1. 2 sec sleep (allows for slow SD cards)
2. Execute: /Storage Card/Startup/*.exe (your Toolbar)
3. Alternative: /Program Files/Navman/AppStartupSecNav.exe (if no SD card found runs Navman GPS where AppStartupSecNav.exe is renamed original AppStartupSec.exe) |
